I used to be with someone who was addicted to alcohol. I don’t know if he still is, as we don’t see each other anymore. Anyway, he was always trying to go back to rehab to resolve his addition. I still admire him for that, as he was trying to get better for his teenage daughters. I hope he gets to be around them again, at some point. I wish I was still part of his support network. Some addicts do put in the effort, if given a chance. They’re not all void of emotions and human feelings. Whoever might look like a bad apple, well, get to know the person, before just suddenly assuming that “We’d better not help him, as he looks like a wife beater”. Just saying.
